Helpful tips on buying and fitting the right Car Seat for your little one! Putting your child in a car seat or a booster seat correctly is the most important thing you can do to protect him in case of any accident. Here are few things that you need to remember when fitting the car seat:
Read the instructions leaflet before you use your seat.
Always put car and booster seats in the backseat.
Infants must ride in a rear-facing car seat until they are 13kg or approximately 15 months. Never place a rear-facing car seat on the front passenger seat where the air bag had been installed – it can seriously harm the baby.
Children over 13kg should use forward-facing seats.
Children who weigh over 30kg should sit on a booster seat, using the vehicle’s lap and seat belts. The shoulder strap should rest comfortably across child’s shoulder and chest. The lap belt should rest across his upper thighs, not his abdomen.
Try to keep journey short for the first 3 months. It's good for your baby to lie flat for most of the time.
